Thanks to the ease of use of WordPress I had my basic design implemented after the day I had set up my new blog. I just tweaked some parts over the weekend to style some subpages.

WordPress is really easy to use, in just 2 days from knowing nothing about WordPress I went to a fully set up blog with my own theme. The documentation on wordpress.org is really excellent and helps a lot.

There are still some small quirks but I decided to upload my new theme to have a starting point. From there I will improve my site step by step.

I will also start a German blog, but it will be separate from this one. There are some solutions to integrate languages into one blog. But I guess that most of the posts will have different topics and also there are some projects that are only in German, so there is not much use for an integrated solution.
